This ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Applied Statistics provides learners with an introduction to the purpose and aims of statistical analysis and the core statistical techniques applied within organisations. This diploma will give learners the skills and knowledge to make decisions and understand how statistics can be used and misused.

The units covered in this course are tailored to help learners identify and apply relevant statistical information in business. Learners will also explore how to interpret and validate statistical information, identify existing biases, and create their own information. They will learn the core statistical techniques used in businesses and know when and how to apply them effectively. They will also have a clear understanding of the use of ICT in assisting data collection and analysis.

Note: Learners will not get any additional study materials with the concerned units. However, all necessary forms and guidance will be provided to the learners for assignment submission.

Guided Learning Hours:

Guided Learning Hours are made up of all contact time, guidance, or supervision in real-time of a learner by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer, or any other appropriate education or training provider.

Total GLH for this qualification is 360, as you will only be required to complete the mandatory units.

Total Qualification Time:

Total Qualification Time approximates the entire time required for a learner to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment needed to be awarded the qualification, i.e. successfully achieve all learning outcomes.

Total qualification time consists of Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and Additional non-supervised learning. This estimates the number of hours the learner spends on preparation, study, assessments, or any other form of education, as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. The credit value of a qualification is determined by TQT divided by 10, as one credit equals 10 hours of learning.

Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 600 hours.

The total credit value is 60.

Method of Assessment:

All units within this qualification will be internally assessed through assignments and externally verified by the awarding body. This course does not require examinations. Therefore, the learner can achieve either a Pass, Merit, Distinction, or Fail in their respective units based on the quality of work the learner submits and the assessor’s judgements against the criteria provided.

  • For learners that speak English as a second language, IELTS 5.5 is recommended
