Overview

Most of us take decision-making for granted, by those who lack mental capacity due to illness or impairment need proper care and support when it comes to their best interests. If you’re currently working in the mental health care sector and want to learn more about MCA & DOLS, then this course is for you.

This course will explore the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) in detail, covering key principles and legal responsibilities of service providers. You’ll learn how to assess mental capacity in individuals and broaden your understanding of the role of the court of protection in regards to DOLS.

Furthermore, you’ll be familiarised with the process of decision making for the benefit of service users, and the implications involved for both service user and provider. This course can be studied on a part-time or full-time basis, and there are no specific learning requirements to enrol.

Please note: This course only gives you the theoretical knowledge that you need to excel in this field. This Mental Health Care Training – MCA & DOLS doesn’t entitle you to practise as a professional in this specific field.

Certification

CPD Certification from One Education

After successfully completing the MCQ assessment, you will qualify for the CPD Certificate from One Education, as proof of your continued development. Certification is available in PDF format, at the cost of £9, or a hard copy can be sent to you via post, at the cost of £15.
