Complete British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 & 2 Online provides a clear pathway from beginner to confident communicator, helping learners connect effectively with the Deaf community. The programme combines essential foundations with advanced conversational skills in one course.
Level 1 introduces greetings, fingerspelling, numbers, money, time, family, hobbies, animals, food, colours, weather, transport, and describing people or clothing. These practical topics build a strong base for everyday communication.
Level 2 develops fluency with workplace vocabulary, daily routines, describing homes, emotions, storytelling, countries and flags, and advanced techniques such as itemising and multi-channel signs. A mix of subtitled and non-subtitled lessons, visual resources, and stories strengthens both receptive and expressive skills.
On completion, learners are awarded a CPD-accredited certificate, valued for personal development and professional progression in education, healthcare, customer service, and community roles.
You will take a multiple-choice exam. The exam is automatically marked by our system. This exam will test your understanding of key topics from the course. You must score at least 60% to pass. Once you pass, you will qualify for a CPD-certified certificate.
A deeper understanding of the British Sign Language course can be gained by completing an assignment at the end. You can do this anytime. After you submit it, a tutor will review your work and give you feedback.
After completing the British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 & 2 Course assessment, you will qualify for a CPD QS accredited certificate from One Education to showcase your achievement.

The requirements are simple and flexible. Anyone aged 16 or older can enrol in this CPD certified BSL course. Additionally, basic literacy skills and a passion for learning are required. The course is fully online. Therefore, it is accessible from any internet-enabled smart device. This allows you to study from the comfort of your home.
The BSL Level 1 and 2 course requires approximately 9 hours and 18 minutes of study. On average, students take between 3 to 6 weeks to complete the course, depending on their availability and level of commitment.
