Business Research Project

Given the current international economic environment, managers’ roles are not restricted to their core responsibilities and are expected to perform additional duties. Often, the additional projects entail investigating further opportunities and strategies to move your business forward and create a brand with added value in the highly competitive business environment. This module is designed in such a manner to equip managers with the skills that are essential to perform independently in a business environment. You will be asked to conduct independent research based on real business case studies. You will be required to follow one of two possible approaches:  

1. An inductive study where it is required for the participants to carry out a research project in relation to a business problem.
2. A deductive approach in which participants must evaluate the authenticity of an existing theory which can be used to solve a business problem.

Critical Issues in Business

This module is designed to provide participants with an introduction to study on the MBA Top Up program. The program familiarizes students with the prevalent issues in business, which they will come across throughout their MBA course. These issues will be examined in detail in the Business Research Project. The module involves a critical approach and changes the level of the content according to your progress. The module aims to develop a critical understanding of thematic nature of the study of organisations and the business environment.
