Furthermore, the combination of theory and practice gives a broader idea to contextualize of the chosen topic in the literature and then selecting the appropriate research methodologies which includes of reflection of contrasting research paradigms as well as methods of data collection and analysis. Finally, it will also aid students to manage a prolonged course of independent research and related study systematically and effectively.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to actively and successfully participate with a programme of training related to research including research approaches and research skills which involves generic and field-specific elements.
  2. Come up with research study that matches the chosen type of research 
  3. Formulate an arduous and challenging but feasible research proposal along with full details of the limitations associated for the proposed independent research project.
  4. Produce and use a research instrument, such as a survey, to collect primary and/or secondary data as per requirement along with the application of appropriate methods of data collection and data analysis.
  5. Make note of the solutions arrived and the strategies undertaken to achieve them; and communicate them effectively.

Entry Requirements

The prerequisite knowledge and/or experience you would need to study this course.

  • The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Postgraduate Diploma AND
  • A good command of English (equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above); OR
  • The EduQual Diploma in Business Management (Human Resource Management – SCQF, Level 11) qualification OR
  • OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Human Resources Management
