Behaviour Support Assistant

The Behaviour Support Assistant course is designed to develop essential skills in Behaviour Management and Positive Behaviour Support within educational settings. This course provides a practical understanding of Classroom Behaviour Strategies, enabling learners to support pupils effectively while promoting Inclusive Education. By exploring Child Psychology Basics and Special Educational Needs (SEN), learners gain the confidence to respond to a wide range of behavioural challenges and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Throughout the course, learners will build knowledge in Emotional and Social Development, communication, and Conflict Resolution Skills. The curriculum covers key areas such as emotional intelligence, stress and anger management, and attachment in childhood, helping learners apply effective Student Support Techniques. By understanding behavioural patterns and psychological processes, learners can create structured and responsive environments that encourage positive outcomes for children and young people.

This course also focuses on developing practical approaches, including creating and implementing Behaviour Intervention Plans to manage and prevent challenging behaviours. Learners will explore strategies for addressing antisocial behaviour while promoting positive engagement and relationship building. On completion, learners will be equipped with the skills to support behaviour effectively in schools, care settings, and other educational environments, enhancing both student wellbeing and academic progress.
