Description

Whether you’re hoping to work for a major game studio or considering developing and publishing your own indie game, learning how to be a game designer is the most important skill you will need to learn. This Game Design for Beginners course aims to give you a well-rounded look at beginner-level techniques in 3D game development, computer animation, digital painting and programming.

The course begins with an introduction to Unity3D, the exciting software used to create hundreds of popular and successful videogames. This includes lessons on the benefits of Unity3D Free vs Pro, how to download and install it and a basic look at the default layout and hierarchy system of Unity3D.

You will then be taught about coding in C#, the object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft. This unit includes substantial lessons on syntax symbols, grammar, debugging, enum, arithmetic, conditionals, loop basics and method structures, amongst others. If most of these terms aren’t familiar to you now, there’s nothing to worry about, as you will quickly be taught everything you need to know to create 2D and 3D masterpieces pulled straight out of your imagination.

Finally, you will learn to master the fundamentals, from keyboard inputs and triggers to camera states and raycast setups. This last section also covers directional movement, spawned objects, player gravity rotation setup and GameObject Primitive.
