Mental Health Care Training – MCA & DOLS
Most of us take decision-making for granted, by those who lack mental capacity due to illness or impairment need proper care and support when it comes to their best interests. If you’re currently working in the mental health care sector and want to learn more about MCA & DOLS, then this course is for you.
This course will explore the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) in detail, covering key principles and legal responsibilities of service providers. You’ll learn how to assess mental capacity in individuals and broaden your understanding of the role of the court of protection in regards to DOLS.
Furthermore, you’ll familiarise with the process of decision making for the benefit of service users, and implications involved for both service user and provider. This course can be studied on a part-time or full-time basis, and there are no specific learning requirements to enrol.
