Learning Outcome

Learn how to keep young minds away from harmful material and protected from negative aspects of the online universe by taking our course on Safeguarding Children: Internet Safety. Whilst the younger generation becomes ever more reliant on the information, knowledge, and social interaction they take for granted on the Internet, the sad fact is that many unhealthy presences on there can harm them in significant ways.

The training offered in these online modules delivers comprehensive information regarding the risks involved and regulations in place for young people on a keyboard, tablet, or smartphone. You will learn about age restrictions and privacy laws, cyberbullying, internet grooming, and the safeguards that you can quickly activate to prevent exposure to these elements. In addition to this information, you will be shown how to identify and combat obsessive behaviour online and look for signs of radicalism or harmful extremism.

Key Topics to Be Covered

  • Installing privacy software and age restriction on family devices
  • Looking for signs of cyberbullying or internet grooming
  • Safeguarding your child on personal accounts and social media
  • Keeping mobile devices safe and enabling parental controls
  • Preventing online addiction and stopping radicalisation

Your Path to Success

When you complete all of the online modules included in the Safeguarding Children: Internet Safety course, you will have gained the practical knowledge to actively monitor or restrict inappropriate or suspicious online interactions involving your children. This will provide a significant advantage for those who are parents, teachers or guardians for children on a regular basis.

Is This Course Right for You?

This course is designed to provide a helpful introduction to online safeguarding and preventative measures for protecting children against malign influences. It delivers training for those acting as guardians or educators of young internet users. Full-time and part-time learners are equally supported, and it can take just 20 to 30 hours to gain accreditation, with study periods being entirely customisable to your needs.
