This course is an entry-level introduction to speech and language therapy, exploring the role and responsibilities of a speech therapy assistant and speech pathologist in detail. You will start by learning the basics of literacy development, moving onto the science of speech, and how the human nervous system controls our speech and ability to swallow,
Throughout the Speech and Language Therapy Assistant course, you will explore a wide range of speech and language disorders such as ADHD, Huntington’s and autism. You will also be introduced to effective strategies and practical exercises for treating patients.

After successfully completing the course, you will qualify for the CPD Certificate from One Education, as proof of your continued professional development. Certification is available in PDF format, at the cost of £9, or a hard copy can be sent to you via post, at the cost of £15.
