NCFE Level 1 Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics is a nationally recognised GCSE grade 2-3 (E-D) equivalent certification. Entry requirements:

No pre-entry requirements or minimum age are required for this qualification.

Assessment:

This qualification has one external assessment divided into 2 sections.

  • Section A: Non-calculator section

Duration = 30 minutes

Total Marks = 15

  • Section B: Calculator section

Duration = 90 minutes

Total Marks = 45

Please be mindful that registering for the official exam carries a separate £100 registration fee.

  • Numbers and the number system – whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Common measures, shapes and space
  • Information and data management 

The assessment will have separate questions for sections A and B, which must be taken in the same session.
