Remember you are the average of the five people you hang out with the most.
If you hang out with negative people, you will inevitably be affected by it.
Have you ever noticed that all your friends seem to dress alike? It is so weird. One day you wear a nice-looking T-shirt, and after a few months, all our friends are wearing something similar.
It’s because when a few people spend a lot of time with each other, they subconsciously start to mimic the other person’s behaviour, as human beings we like to feel like we belong and we want to be accepted by our peers, that is why we do the same things that our peers do.
If you hang out with people who are always studying, you will inevitably start to behave like them. If you hang out with people who are a big fan of football and watch it all the time, you will inevitably start watching football and become a fan of the sport. Similarly, if you hang out with negative people, you will inevitably become like them.
We all know who these negative people are. You know what I’m talking about. The people who always complain about how bad their life is, always blame others, and never take accountability, people who immediately shut themselves off to new experiences and try to bring you down when you start to improve and get ahead of them. People who always speak ill of others and never praise someone or give them the credit that they deserve.
These people are everywhere, we all know them, and we all know that they’re bad for us. And I wanted to give you the best advice that I can right from the beginning.

And to let positive things come in you first got to kick out the negative things.
Now I am not telling you to be rude to negative people in your life (although sometimes it is a good idea to give these people a piece of your mind, maybe that’s what’s finally gonna encourage them to change) but you can start with avoiding them, whenever they ask you to hang out with them tell them you have other important tasks to do, be polite and give them a reason, ignore them long enough and they will get the message and stop trying to come into your life.
2. Eat healthy
Have you noticed that everywhere you look now all you see are obese people?
The number one reason behind this obesity is bad eating habits.
Fast foods now dominate our diet, and they are really bad for us. Research has shown that eating fast foods and unhealthy things lower your productivity and ruins your motivation.
How can you expect your life to get better if you’re always eating unhealthy food?
Remember, you are what you eat.
Make sure what you put in your body is healthy and helps you stay healthy.
We all know what healthy foods are. I don’t think I have to explain that. But what I will say is this, if you start eating healthy foods, not only will it start to improve your life but it will also save you a tonne of money.
Fast foods are usually expensive, and they are bad for you, whereas vegetables and organic foods are cheaper in comparison and you can save a lot of money if you can cook and prepare your food by yourself.

Taking out time of your busy schedule for yourself is a great way to improve your life.
7. Create a routine
Human beings like routines. From waking up, eating, and even going to the toilet, our brain likes to do things in a certain order.
If you create a routine for yourself and stick to it, your brain automates the process, for example, if you wake up at the same time every day, go to bed every day, and exercise every day, these things become a habit and your brain doesn’t have to waste any energy thinking about these things.
What this does is it allows your brain to focus on more important things, as your brain doesn’t need to use any energy thinking about regular things, it automates the process, and it has a lot more energy to spend on doing creative things.

Sometimes watching your dog do crazy things is all you need to make your life better.
If you’re a cat person, then get a cat. The point is, that having a pet is great, and you should get one.
9. Instead of texting or chatting all the time, Call your friends and family.
We live in a world of texts, DMs, emails, posts, and daily stories.
But these are not what gives us satisfaction. So instead of texting, try calling your friends and family.
Once a week call your loved ones, and ask them how they’re doing. Gossip with them. Take an interest in their life, and share stuff with them.

You should be exercising daily. Even if it’s just for half hour.
I can tell you this from personal experience. Last year I noticed I gained a bit of weight and decided to create an exercise routine for myself. I worked out for 45 minutes every day.
Within 2 months I lost 24.2508 lbs (11 KGs), and I noticed I felt a lot better, I was more productive, I felt better and yes, looked good too.
From then, it became a habit, and exercising is part of my daily routine now.
11. Dress up/ step up your dressing game
Did you know that dressing up can significantly boost your confidence?
Yes, it’s true if you want to feel confident, then you should start developing a habit of dressing well.
And in this time of sneakers, sweatpants, and oversized t-shirts wearing a simple button-down shirt can make you stand out and give you the extra confidence you need to get ahead of the competition.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my sneakers. But every piece of clothing has a time and a place. If you wear an oversized t-shirt and your sneakers everywhere, it’s going to be very difficult for people to take you seriously.
So step up your clothing game and make your life a whole lot better. You don’t have to wear suits everywhere, just try to dress up a little bit whenever you get the chance.

Trying to get ahead of the competition, working towards your goals, getting that promotion, hustling, these things are great. But from time to time you should slow down a bit.
Often time we hurry and make mistakes, we panic and don’t see solutions that are right in front of us.
